Thank you for trying World Tools!
Installation
World Tools relies on a different (free) plugin for some of its functionality. This plugin (developed by Rorohiko) is called APID ToolAssistant. Before installing World Tools, make sure that APID ToolAssistant is installed as well.
- Shut down InDesign if it is running.
- Download the Macintosh version or Windows version of APID ToolAssistant (if it is not already installed).
- Follow the instructions in the APID download to install it.
- Double Click on the WorldTools zxp file. This should open Extension Manager.
- When prompted by Extension Manager, click okay.
- Start InDesign.
Troubleshooting the Installation Process
- If you are running Windows Vista or Windows 7, and have UAC enabled, Extension Manager might have trouble installing World Tools. In that case, please start Extension Manager as an administrator and then double click the zxp installer.
Activation
- Open the APID ToolAssistant dialog. It is located under API > APID ToolAssistant...
- You should see a listing of World Tools. Select the World Tools listing and click "Get License". This should open your web browser to an In-Tools login page.
- If you already have an In-Tools account, fill in your login and password. Otherwise create an account.
- If you have not yet paid for World Tools, you will be prompted to pay.
- Once you are logged into your account page (after paying for your plugin), you will see a table with World Tools listed. Click "Show License", and then "Download License" when the wording of the link changes.
- After downloading your license file, return to InDesign, and click "Import License" next to where you clicked "Get License" and select the downloaded license file. The status next to the World Tools listing will change to "Licensed".
