I have a document that uses Univers Oblique in the paragraph head. In
the running head, the type is Times. It seems Power Headers does not
recognize "oblique" as "italic." I tried overriding the header by
manually typing the italicized text but when I save the document, it
reverts to roman.

Is there a way to either get the "oblique"
recognized as "italic" or override the Power Header on that page
altogether? Thanks in advance.

The fact that oblique is not recognized as Italic is a documented limitation.

You can remove the header label on that page to prevent it from being updated.

Select the frame, right click and select Power Headers > Label Header Frame.

Give the frame an empty label.
