Script Bay Version 0.1.5 – The Best Way to Script the Creative Suite Just Got Even Better

We’ve just updated Script Bay to version 1.0.5 and added some powerful new features!

  • First and foremost, we’ve added support in Dreamweaver. Script Bay is now (at least partially) supported in six applications: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Fireworks and Dreamweaver.
  • The second really nice feature we’ve added is automatic code indenting and brace pairing. The code is automatically indented based on the current indenting. If the line ends in an opening curly brace or square bracket, the next line is indented, and a closing brace or bracket is inserted.
  • The third really useful improvement is undo and redo functionality to the script editor. Typing can be undone and redone in one of three ways:
    1. By using a keyboard shortcut. The keyboard shortcut to undo is the standard Command/Control Z. We also added an additional shortcut of Command/Control Shift Y.The reason we added this shortcut is that Command/Control Z does not work in all apps under all circumstances. Certain applications in certain situations capture the Command/Control Z shortcut, and the panel does not receive the command. We used Command/Control Shift Y because that’s the sister shortcut to the semi-standard Command/Control Y to redo.Redo is done using Command/Control Shift Z or the semi-standard Command/Control Y.
    2. using the context menu
    3. Using the new undo and redo panel buttons above the script editor.

Note: In Dreamweaver, only Command/Control Y and Command/Control Shift Y KBSCs or the buttons work for undo/redo. There is currently no context menu at all in Dreamweaver.

We’ve included quite a few other usability improvements and bug fixes as well. Read the update log (visible in the updater window) for full details.

Script Bay can be downloaded from here. Happy scripting! :)

  1. ( ꒪Д꒪)ノ Oh… I dare not try to improve on this lovely tool. ლ(´ڡ`ლ)Some sort of dedicated hotkeys to tap into your favorite 3 scripts (i know this probably difficult knowing how closed the scripting API is for AI). ヽ( ̄д ̄;)ノ Ohhh… You couldn’t do this because it’s just too fun of an idea(•ิ_•ิ)? ––some built in documentation either a script author or user could implement either a static poster frame-ish thing inside your palette kind of like a huge tooltip, or better yet \(@O@)/ some CHM style markup built in to IDE window, Adobe permitting.(︶︹︺) I bet you could even tie a documentation window directly to a Dashboard, Google, or Yahoo– yeah… prolly to ambitious.(ノ ̄ー ̄)ノ Whatever you do stay out of the OS help window… anyway thanks for the kick-azz software. Hello,

Is Script Bay (and its installation instructions) still viable under a Win 7 64-bit + CS6 environment?

    Thank you very much.

    Kelly

    • Drew says:

      Yes it works fine on 13.0.1 (CS6) x64 W7

Thanks for the script it’s one of the most useful scripts I use next to FilterHub. I don’t know what I would do without either of them lol.

While trying to install this on the newest CC 2014 illustrator, it asks for “Flash version 11 or above” Any tips on getting it to work? Much obliged!

I can’t reinstall scriptbay on extension manager CS 6.0.8.
i deinstalled scriptbay via exman, then tried to reinstall but exman always
stops the installation, because scriptbay doesn’t contain a valid signature. There isn’t a choice to continue anyway. Starting exman with administrative rights doesn’t help, too.
This happens on both of my pcs (win 7 64 bit).

Can anybody reproduce this error or has any advice? I’m a big fan of scriptbay and my everyday workflow relies heavily on it =[

A few days ago ScriptBay stopped being accessible able to launch? I reset Illustrator preferences, unloaded and reloaded ScriptBay, to no avail. I then uninstalled ScriptBay thinking maybe if I installed it fresh. However I was now met with the following message:

“The extension ‘ScriptBay’ does not contain a valid signature.
The extension will not be installed.”

Nothing else has changed on my system and all other plugins etc work fine, can someone advise what has occurred concerning ScriptBay?

ScriptBay is a big part of my daily workflow and now its not available, please someone help. Any feedback and advice is dearly welcomed.

    Thank you.

Script Bay stopped working in Illustrator CS6. When I try to re-install it, it states: The extension ‘ScriptBay’ does not contain valid signature. The extension will not be installed” Please help, I used this script all the time!

Last week scriptbay stopped working. i reinstalled the whole adobe cs6 suite just to find out, that it has sth. to do with the system date. If i set my system date just before the 12th of may 2015, scriptbay magically works again AND the extension manager gives an option to install it without a valid signature.
Since it is not an option to adjust the systemdate in a professional workspace, it hope in-tools will release this plugin with a renewed signature.

I’m not sure why it stopped working, but I’m taking the opportunity to push out some improvements I was working on some time ago.

    Stay tuned…

  9. LL says:

@ Jan: Thanks for the reminder of turning back the clock, I had thought of trying that but then forgot to do so, it indeed works as a temp fix, thank you. (Seems like the signature/certificate expired perhaps?)

    @ Harbs:

I am encouraged that I was not the only one experiencing this issue. Thank you so much Harbs for your efforts and looking into things. I am so overjoyed to hear this as ScriptBay has become so important to my daily workflow. Thank you so much, I eagerly await trying any updates you may release as all efforts on my part can not get it working again as others have stated above aside from turning back the system clock.

Thank you again, this is wonderful news to hear! Thank you so much Harbs.
